EXAMINATION SCHEME & QUESTION PAPER PATTERN
The design and scheme of question papers for SET is adopted same as prescribed for NET conducted by the UGC/CSIR/NTA. There shall be two papers in each subject. Both the papers will have only objective type questions of (a) Multiple Choice, (b) Matching, (c) Assertion and Reasoning and (d) True and False. The test will be held on a day in two separate sessions. The details about the papers as under

Type of Paper |
Common for all the candidates . The questions in Paper-I intend to assess the teaching/ research aptitude of the candidate. It will primarily be designed to test reasoning ability, reading comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the candidate. |
Subject specific questions . This shall be based on the subject selected by the candidate and will assess domain knowledge. |

Marking scheme |
2 marks for each correct response and no marks for un-answered/un-attempted question. There shall be no negative marking for wrong answers. |
